The speaker itself is awesome. I had bought an Acton for my bedroom at Best Buy and liked it so much got the Stanmore for my living room. Liked that so much I bought another to pair them. The sound is incredible and you’ll hear details you’ve never heard before. I’m geeking out relistening to my favorite classical and jazz music.I like the sound so much I decided to buy a second to couple them. This is confusing, because you can only couple them if they are the same model name, and you can only tell the model name by looking at the back of the unit (not from any information on the box or the product listing.) There are three different model names for the Stanmore II: Stanmore II, Stanmore II Bluetooth, and Stanmore II BT.The BT model can only couple with itself. My first speaker is a Stanmore II, but I bought a second and it was a Stanmore II BT so I have to return it. And like I said, the only way to know for sure is to look at the back of the unit so if you’re buying online or at a store you have to open the box and physically look at the back of the unit. It seems as though the newer units are the BT models.

The media could not be loaded. Honestly, each speaker as an individual is pretty good. I bought them to replace an old set up as I recently moved my home office to the basement. I did have pretty high expectations, given the very high price the quality and build is fantastic. They’re soft to the touch and once again, controlling each as an individual quite nice. Since there a higher price item, I think it’s more important to be critical. They lack in the highs department. It feels like the treble simply does not get high enough and the controls are not fine enough to adjust them well. Also, Bluetooth seems to work quite poorly especially when dealing with the pair. I am currently considering a situation where I have a central controller that adjust both at the same time using a wired connection.Hope this review helps.Oh yeah, they do get quite loud
